About us

The SLGHA's stall was a combination of Friends of Sierra Leone, Rakaba Ballet and Schools for Salone and SLGHA. What we would call Mission

The mission of the organization is to promote an understanding of the Sierra Leone-Gullah Connection using various media and to help preserve the history and culture on both sides of the Continent.

Vision

The primary focus of the organization is to educate the world about the rich history between the United States and Sierra Leone via this unique group of African-Americans, who have kept more of their African heritage and culture than any other group. And then to turn it into a reunion and permanent reconnection not just among Sierra Leoneans and the Gullahs, but also to include all people with an ancestry from Sierra Leone.
